Speak Arabic and English. LonoText types it.
Hold a key, talk, let go. Your words land in whatever app you're typing in: Egyptian Arabic, English, or both in the same sentence.
macOS 26 or later · Apple silicon · Free during the beta
As simple as a walkie-talkie
No window to open, no button to find. LonoText lives in your menu bar.
Hold a key
fn for English, Right ⌥ for Arabic. You can pick your own keys.
Speak naturally
Talk the way you talk, mixing Egyptian Arabic and English as you like.
Let go
The text appears where your cursor is, in about a second.
Made for how we actually talk
Most dictation apps choke on Egyptian Arabic, or turn every English word into Arabic letters. LonoText doesn't.
Arabic and English, mixed
English words inside Arabic sentences stay in English letters.
Works in every app
Mail, WhatsApp, Slack, Notes, your code editor: anywhere you can type.
One key per language
Each key has its own language, so a short phrase is never mistaken for the other one.
About a second
English is transcribed right on your Mac. Arabic comes back from the cloud in about a second.
Your words, spelled your way
Add names, products and terms once, like “Android Studio”, and they're written exactly like that.
Private by design
It listens only while you hold the key. Nothing you say is stored: not the audio, not the text.

Questions
Which Macs does it work on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 26 or later.
Is it really free?
Yes, during the beta. Paid plans come later, and beta testers will hear about them first.
Is my voice stored?
No. English is transcribed right on your Mac. Arabic goes over an encrypted connection to LonoText Cloud to be turned into text, and LonoText keeps neither the audio nor the text.
My Mac says LonoText can't be opened.
The beta isn't notarized by Apple yet. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway, and confirm. You only do this once.
Which languages does it understand?
English, Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic, including English words inside Arabic sentences, which stay in English letters.
How do I get help?
In LonoText, open Settings › About, copy your Support ID, and send it to the person who invited you to the beta.
